  1. I’ve eaten in L’Écrivain before but we paid considerably more than €25. It was very nice from what I remember. The kitchen clean the plates with vinegar before any food gets put on them to prevent flavour contamination, which is nice.

I do remember suspecting our waiter was putting on a French accent, though I can’t guarantee it.

  2. I’ve eaten in L’Ecrivain a couple of times (paid for by work I hasten to add) and, though the portions are small, I thought the food was great. They’re really good when it comes to allergies, facilitate your every quibble at every turn without turning a hair. One time I was eating with a guy whose allergies are so severe he rarely eats out and carries adrenaline around with him the whole time so for the peace of mind L’Ecrivain gave us, I will be forever grateful.

  3. Eaten lunch at L’Ecrivain anumber of times. Was only €45 for three courses normally which is excellent considering the quality of food and the ever pleasant staff. No airs and graces like other quality restaraunts. No need as the food says it all. Going again with Irish Times/Blackrock Hospice voucher. €20 and donating to a worthy cause.
