Some of Tesco’s special offers this week are available here, and they include:
- Buy 2.5kg white potatoes and get broccoli (normally €1.07) and a 3-pack swedes (normally 99c) free
- Half price McGuigan Chardonnay or Shiraz at €7.49
- Muller’s Little Stars range 6 pack at €2.29 – buy one get one free.
- Tesco Fresh Irish Striploin Steak reduced by 25% from €23.69 per kilo to €17.76 per kilo
Not personally a huge fan of Tesco’s meats, and these aren’t amazing offers, but they’re not bad.

- Erin Egg-fried Savoury Rice – buy 2 for €2.00 (save 90c)
- Roma Chunky Bolognaise – buy one at €2.05, get one free – not much of a “special offer” as the same item is only €1 at Superquinn
- Gem Granulated Sugar 600g – reduced from €1.79 to €1.29
- Kellogg’s Special K 500g – 2 for €5.50 (normal price €4.22 each)

I’ve been checking out the “reduced to clear” shelf in Tesco Dundrum recently. You can find some really cheap stuff after around 6 in the evening. Got a huge prawn and veggie curry meal thingy for about 1.50. Quality of the stuff varies day to day. Handy if you need something to eat right away.
I would like to reserve the right to criticise Tesco in the future for their monopolistic practices and the self-service counters which always take 5 times as long than normal checkouts.
