Oxfam’s Fairtrade Fortnight Events

My lovely employers Oxfam Ireland are hosting the following events for Fairtrade Fortnight:

  • St Georges Market, Belfast Saturday 28 February 9am-3pm
    Oxfam is hosting Divine Chocolate’s Master Chocolatier who will demonstrate various techniques for using and cooking with chocolate.
  • Oxfam Fair Trade Shop Galway Saturday 28 February
    The Divine Chocolate fountain will visit the Galway shop
  • Oxfam Fair Trade Shop South King Street Dublin Sunday 1 March 2-4pm
    Oxfam Fair Trade Shop South King Street Dublin Monday 2 March 11am-2pm
    The Divine Chocolate Master Chocolatier will be in the shop to show customers new ways with chocolate
  • Oxfam Fair Trade Shop South King Street Dublin Monday 2 March 4-6pm
    One of the newest products to carry the FT Mark – Palestinian Olive Oil – will be featured and there will be a visit by an olive farmer from Palestine .

Oxfam Fair Trade Shop Galway and Amnesty International Galway are sponsoring ‘Just Desserts’ – the public is invited to make their favourite dessert using at least two Fairtrade ingredients. Register by March 2 at either Amnesty International or Oxfam Fair Trade Shop in Galway . Public tasting and announcement of winner at 4pm Thursday March 5 at Galway City Museum , Spanish Arch.

All four Oxfam Fair Trade Shops will offer tastings throughout the Fortnight on a variety of products – come in and try something new!

Image from Fairtrade.ieJoin thousands of people across the country and ‘Go Bananas for Fairtrade’. Eat a banana between noon on Friday 6 March to noon on Saturday 7 March to set a world record for the largest number of Fairtrade bananas eaten over a 24 hour period!
