  1. As a busy working Mum of two small kids, I am the queen of on-line food shopping. The only time I get to do it is once the kids are in bed and I get an hour’s peace and quiet. But the one thing I don’t buy online is meat as I’m just not a fan of supermarket meat. I would love to support a local butcher but there isn’t a decent one near us. I buy my meat on a grab and go basis when I happen to be somewhere that sells good meat and fill up the freezer. Oh wouldn’t it be heaven to order a week’s worth of meat at the same time as doing my on-line shop and have it all sitting fresh in my fridge. I wouldn’t even need to plan the night before what we’re having and take it out to defrost. Convenience and fresh meals for the week. Oh joy…!

  2. I love browsing the shops when looking for meat and veggies, though i feel awful under pressure some days in teh butcher trying to decide which piece of meat i want. Online shopping from a local trusted butcher would probably be handier if i had a lot less time midweek

  3. I’ve never bought meat online but I would definitely be open to it. I always buy meat from a butcher where possible and never from a supermarket.

  4. I buy organic meat from Downey’s and get free delivery. If John offered the same, I’d buy from him. So get on the organic bandwagon, especially after the pork fiasco and I’ll switch.

  5. If I was going to choose a supplier for meat products, I’d like to know a bit about the producers commitments to reasonably humane rearing and slaughtering techniques.

  6. First of all I would like to say that I never bought meat from the butcher. Only supermarkets. I would like to try because I am not really pleased with the meat I buy. Especially the price. I think I will try to buy meat online. It’s easier than browsing the shops.

  7. I would prefer to see what I am getting first hand and not rely on blind buying of food.

  8. I’d been interested in getting local meat & local veg delivered. Delivery times could be an issue although maybe delivered to work. Once my work colleagues don’t rob it from the fridge! I think I’d try ordering it once and see if the quality holds up.

  9. We don’t have a car so everything we buy needs to either be bought online or fit in the buggy (along with the two kids) so I love buying groceries online – meat doesn’t bother me provided I’ve had a good experience in the past.

For fruit & veg, I really like absolutelyorganic.ie! They deliver organic foodstuffs right to your door.
