Indian Food in Madina, Mary St

Posted by: jean in: Bloggers Recommend | Restaurants | Reviews

madinaI finally got a chance a few weeks back to check out Madina, as recommended by Maman Poulet in our Bloggers Recommend series.  And yea verily, Maman Poulet doth speak the truth about Madina…the food is really good and excellent value for money.  My friend Charlie and I had the butter chicken for €8.95. I usually find butter chicken to be a bit too bland, but this version was both creamy and spicy, and really delicious.

Madina doesn’t serve booze so it’s not the kind of restaurant that you’d linger in for hours, but it’s perfect for a quick feed-up before or after the cinema.  They have a very basic interior and service but great authentic Indian food for a very reasonable price.  It’s actually cheaper than most Indian takeaways.

Madina is at 60 Mary St, Dublin 1.

We went ti Madina last week with our 2 year old. The food was delicious and the staff went beyond the call of duty looking after us. I would definitely recommend it to people with children. We felt so welcome.

I think this a great spot for fab grub (avoid the toilets however!!) They also make dosa (the huge lentil pancakes) and other Kerala specialities I don’t think I’ve seen anywhere else in Dublin. yum yum.
