This week, Tesco are proclaiming “permanent price cuts” on a number of meat and fish items:

• Tesco Fresh Irish Market Value Whole Chicken 1.4kg – reduced from €4.89 to €3.49
• Tesco Fresh Counter Cod Fillets 400g – reduced from €8 to €4.60

Their old price for fish was pretty much on parity with most fishmongers, so this is a significant reduction. However, I really wouldn’t be a fan of their fish at all: if you do go for this, I strongly suggest drowning it in some sauce to mask the taste and texture.
