  1. Only under pain of death would I eat that bargain chicken.

  2. I love a bargain, but buying 10 items from each retailer is starting to wear me down…Any ideas where the best overall deal is nowadays? Just a thought….

(Trying to boycott Tesco with all my heart, just realised my local greengrocer undercuts many of the big retailer’s on fruit, veg and eggs, I’m delighted!)

  3. Definitely Claire. I wonder if injecting a chicken with a few syringes of water would be a more economical and less disgusting way of bulking up a family dinner.
Liana, we’ll be focusing more on direct price comparisons over coming weeks.

  4. According to Tesco’s own business plan, Dunnes are currently 0.5% cheaper than Tesco.

I personally feel that pursuing the cheapest possible price at all costs is short sighted and will ultimately yield a bitter harvest for us all.

Then again, I can afford to pay producers what their goods are worth, so perhaps that’s easy for me to say.

  5. Not to mention the cruelty involved in producing the chicken Peter. Despite this, I’m still finding Dunnes to be the best value overall for my weekly shop.

  6. I just got a load of blueberries and raspberries at Dunnes and have bunged them in the freezer. They were half price at just €1.99. This offer is valid till Sunday May 17.
