  1. I am finding my local Dunnes stores better value these days too. I always scoot by the ‘reduced to clear’ section which often has pricey meat and poultry reduced to very cheap prices because it has to be eaten that day or the next. Recent bargains include 8 burgers for 1.50, 2 lamb shanks for 1.99, 2 duck breasts for 2.79, 650g lamb mince for 1.50, and today I got 6 grillsteaks for 2.00 and two packets of sausages for 20c each (yes thats right 20c) as well as two packs of marinated pork chops for 1.50 per pack. Needless to say my freezer is bursting at this stage but I can’t remember the last time I had to buy meat when getting the weekly shop. I still go to Aldi for most of my shopping, then hit lidl on the way home for whatever aldi don’t have. But my quick trips to Dunnes for milk or bread often unearth a great bargain or two. That said am I the only one fed up with dunnes advertising their berries as half price – they have been this price for months now so surely that is the regular price – they are hardly going to put them back up to 3.99 any time soon.
