For their 3rd birthday, The Village at Lyons (Celbridge, Co. Kildare), are offering a yummy three-course meal, plus a bottle of wine, for just €33, from September 30th to October 4th.  Go out and take a look: it’s just breathtakingly beautiful out there, and the food is great – chef Paul Carroll sources everything locally, and anything on your plate is spot-on seasonal, fresh and delicious.

On Wednesday, I went for one of their new ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ sessions, where good, hearty food – this time crispy roasted chicken on mushroom risotto, followed by a damn fine vanilla cheesecake and tangy raspberry sorbet – was alluringly combined with a highly informative lecture on ‘Finishing Touches to Interior Design’ by design supremo Pascal O’Reilly of Renaissance Design. Next talk and lunch is November 18th, on arranging pretty flowers for Christmas. Sigh…it’s just so romantic in this spot: please go for the meal special, and you’ll see what I mean!

You can also win a dinner for two at their restaurant La Serre, plus an overnight stay in the Shackleton House, by clicking here and becoming a fan, then following the instructions.  Closes October 30th, 2009.
