Specials at Aldi

AldiAldi scooped five prizes at the recent Blas na hEireann awards. The West Cork Indulgence Lemon Curd Yogurt and the Specially Selected Irish Vintage Red Cheddar topped their respective categories, picking up Gold awards. Aldi’s Specially Selected Irish Angus Fillet Steak won a Silver award, while the Specially Selected Freshly Squeezed Valencia Orange Juice and the Specially Selected Luxury Layer Yogurt (Mixed Flavours) got Bronze. I do think Aldi’s own brands might just top Tesco, Lidl, Dunnes, Superquinn, and SuperValu’s offerings, so the recognition is probably deserved.

Special buys at Aldi for Thursday October 15 include:

  • Patak’s Indian Sauces (540g) – €1.49 each
  • Thermal Socks – €3.49 per pair
  • Men’s Technicla Jogging Shoes – €19.99 per pair

Technical jogging shoes! Interesting. Would you buy a pair of trainers from Aldi?

The current Super6 includes:

  • 1kg Carrots – 49c
  • 750g Rocha Pears – 89c
  • Cauliflower – 69c

No sign of what’s coming up on Aldi’s Sunday specials. That’s a few weeks in a row their website hasn’t been up to date, but I’ll check again before the weekend.

  1. Love Aldis! glad to see them doing well!

  2. Their Specially Selected brand is rather good. I really like their yogurts and cheeses.
I would never buy cheap trainers. Joggers need their feet assessed by a shop assistant in a real sport shop. Running with cheap, not well fitted shoes could cause injuries

  3. Always found it funny how people rush to Aldi and Lidl for all the deals, then when something they don’t expect to buy for cheap pops up they get all weird about it!
