I followed this story – both here and in the Irish Times – with some amusement and a large degree of scepticism. The campaign for lower prices is just that – a marketing campaign. Tesco’s objectives are not to give the consumer lower prices but to increase sales & profit… If you monitor a range of products over time you will see where one reduces in price another increases.
