1. I’m a big fan of the Eridanous Greek food range at Lidl. Pickled chillies stuffed with soft cheese! What’s not to like? So I’m glad to see the range extended this week, and I’m looking forward to trying:
- Halva (a traditional sweet found all the way from the Mediterranean to Central Asia, and common across the Jewish world) – €2.89
- Anchovies – €1.29
- Vine Leaves – €1.49
Click here to see the full range, and here for details of a competition to win a four-star holiday for two people to the island of Corfu (minimum cost of entry is €1.20).
2. The weekly food specials at Lidl includes six reduced price fruit and veg items, available from today until Sunday, and including:
- Red onions – half price – now 29c for 750g
- Mixed Peppers – half price – now 74c for 500g
For full details of the food offers, click here, and remember there’s a new set of weekly food offers every Monday
3. Specials for Thursday October 22 include DIY material and kid’s socks: click here to see them all. Specials for next Monday October 26 include musical equipment, guitars, bongos and more: click here for details.

The coated peanuts are perfect with a beer. They are salty and mildly spicy too. Lovely.

Peter, have you been brave enough to try the ‘musky octopus’ yet? (I’m not going anywhere near it but want to know if someone else has!)
