CheapEats.ie - a blog about food and value

  1. Not great value since they used to do a whole chicken etc. for 12.50! (but better than Tesco)

  2. I think it makes a nice change, and with enough to feed four, it actually works out about €5 cheaper, no?

  3. I think it’s great value, food for four + wine for €20 is great, especially if it’s something snazz like lamb. Not quite as good value as 2 x €12.50 deals though as there’s only one bottle of wine.

  4. I was in M&S last night and got the beef joint (€9.89 on the receipt, the carrot and swede mash (think it was €4.59), cheese selction (no price) and a red spanish (€10.49) possibly the grenache. I thought it was fantastic value. That said I have never bought the meal for 2 as I never saw anything (or was too late) that grabbed my interest. Seriously tempted to go back and get another one or two for the freezer.
