Sleepy, oh so sleepy, falling asleep at the wheel. On the way down to Carlow last weekend, I pulled in at the lovely Mad Hatter Cafe in Castledermot for a coffee.
It’s really the only decent place worth stopping in on the Dublin-Kilkenny road. They’ve a lovely selection of fresh cakes, all home-made on the premises, and they make a lovely cup of coffee. I had a chocolate biscuit cake and a beautiful latte for just over €5.
I’d eaten about an hour beforehand, so didn’t want anything savoury, but I thought the food display – salads and sandwich fillings – looked really appetising. I’ll definitely pop back in for lunch sometime.
