More Comfort Food

Get some comfort

Get some comfort

I’ve mostly been cooking good old reliable comfort recipes this week, so haven’t tried out too many new recipes.

As we batten down the hatches for the weekend, I thought I’d relink to some of CheapEats most popular comfort food recipes. Rercy’s Lebanse Style Shephards Pie brings a heartwarming taste of the middle east to our cold shores, while my Puy Lentil and Vegetable Cottage Pie never fails to warm the cockles. If you’re looking to ease the chill with a big bowl of yumminess, try the Smoked Haddock Chowder. But for one of the greatest soups to spread warmth from your belly toyour veins, it’s got to be this Cauliflower Cheese soup – and this comes from one who does not take very kindly to cauliflower.

What’s your favourite comfort food recipe?

anything baked always seems to do the job, Im especially fond of shepherds pie, potato gratins and lamb curries. Bangers and mash always makes me feel like its not a bad thing to be cooped up indoors also

has to be rice pudding. The baked type, not the sloppy mush you used to eat at school. With full fat milk, cinnamon and a nice crispy sugary crust on top. I curl up on the sofa and gone is the miserable weather!
