CheapEats.ie makes the 2010 Irish Blog Awards Longlist

Posted by: jean in: CheapEats News

irish-blog-awardsI was delighted to see over the weekend that CheapEats.ie is longlisted for best Irish Food and Drink Blog in the 2010 Irish Blog Awards.  The Food and Drink category is sponsored by Bord Bia and we’re in some very good company there: a number of my favourite blogs are nominated, and there’s some very interesting ones that I haven’t seen before.

A big, big thank you to anyone who nominated us – we’re chuffed!  I’m also pleased to see my colleagues from Oxfam Ireland nominated for their Climate Change Blog – it’s well deserved as they’ve been doing a great job documenting both the campaign for action on climate change and the debate around the issue.

Congratulations. How can I became a regular contributor for this website? I wrote for Dublin Blog too, in 08/and early 09.

Thanks everybody for the support. I don’t think the blog awards are open to public vote but we hope to be in with a shot – we’re up against some really stiff competition, and it’s great to see so many brilliant food and drink blogs in the longlist. I have my personal favourites so we’ll see how they do ;)

  • Sinead: If you're anti-Nestle and into saving a few quid, there's a new Irish site selling Nespresso compatible pods for around 15% less. I've tried them and
  • SJ: I second the "Just off Francis" recommendation. Lovely little place!
