Posted by: peter in: Bargains & Special Offers

aldi-logoGetting on the bike? Preparing for winter? Special buys today at Aldi include:

  • Waterproof cycling trousers – €12.99
  • Reflective bands – €5.99

If all the talk of winter and visions of struggling on a bike in the wind and rain while a passing truck soaks you, cheer yourself with some Spanish specials:

  • chorizoSpanish chorizo/ fuet (200g/ 170g) – €1.99
  • Anchovy fillets in olive oil (50g) – 89c
  • Extra virgin organic olive oil (500ml) – €3.79

Chorizo – so good in everything and a cheap meat alternative. You’ll find some of our favourite chorizo recipes here. Get some.

Aldi’s range is top class – I think it’s much better than Lidl, and it’s the cheapest supermarket around without compromising on taste.

Aldi have been sending me some food to sample and, as I’ve bleated here before, it’s consistently some of the best value food around -  mostly delicious, although Rercy wasn’t keen on their Specially Selected chocolate while a snotfaced coffee bag snubbed his nose at their Java. That said, I think Lidl’s organic food is really great and their organic offers are worth checking out this week.

There’s only one reason I don’t go there more often – because they don’t have any branches near where I live.
