Half-price fish and chips today

Posted by: peter in: Bargains & Special Offers | Fast Food

There’s half-price fish and chips to be had at hundreds of chippers across Ireland today, Wednesday May 25. This is the second “National Fish and Chips day”, organised by the Irish Traditional Italian Chipper Association (ITICA). Chippers promoting the offer will advertise in their window or above their shop sign. Look out for the logo.

Last year, some of my friends said that they noticed a decline in the usual quality of some participating chippers, in much the same way that Valentine’s day can be an excuse for restaurants to churn out lower quality meals. Still, this is a good offer if you like your fish and chips and fancy a midweek treat.

Participating chippers in Dublin, Galway, Wicklow, Carlow, Kildare, Westmeath, Louth and Tipperary, but none in Cork and just one in Limerick.

There’s 3 in Limerick City. I just passed Luigi’s and there’s a queue down the street.

Oh good, they weren’t listed on the website. Big queues outside all the chippers I passed about 30 mins ago. Although fish and chips for about €5 is a great deal, I’m not bothered waiting for a half an hour or more.
