Bloom in the Park 2011

There’s no end of interesting distractions for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

Once again, Bloom in the Park, which kicks off today, is one of the big summer highlights. It’s a must-attend event for any foodies or gardeners. I’m really looking forward to checking out the new Bord Bia food village and the live cookery and craft demos.

Kids go free at this event, making it a much more affordable option for families. Tickets cost €20, or €15 with concessions for students or senior citizens. A sunny Bank Holiday weekend in Phoenix Park would be very lovely indeed.

If you won’t be in Dublin, or gardening just isn’t your thing, the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival is always an enjoyable event. Or you could check out the Listowel Writer’s Week (1st – 5th June), taking place in Kerry with a range of workshops, readings and debates on offer.
