Review: Worscht, George’s Street Arcade, Dublin

worschtWe nipped into the newly opened Worscht in George’s St Arcade recently after a day of helping to renovate my sister’s new city centre office. We were starving and felt we deserved something totally lecker (that’s ‘delicious’ auf Deutsch) and what could be better than a big ol’ sausie.

I LOVE sausages so I was excited when I heard about this place. Worscht serves a selection of gourmet sausages in a bun, ranging from the traditional, such as the German Pork or Chicago Style Beef Hot Dog, to the more adventurous Peking Duck and Thai Red Curry Chicken and Pork, with a couple of tasty sounding vegetarian options to boot.

Most menu items cost €7.50 and the sizeable sausage in a bun comes with a handful of potato curls, which aren’t quite chips nor are they crisps, but they are very lovely and work well with the sausages, the only pity is that they don’t have the option of more of these curly wonders as a side order because we definitely would have shared a portion.

We had two of the German Pork sausages which came with a homemade curried ketchup, fried onions and emmenthal, they were oh so very good, I could have eaten two, but for €7.50 this was plenty of food. Worscht is a nice little spot to grab a quick bite in town, I’ll definitely be back to try some of the more unusual menu items, being the sausage super-fan that I am.
