Saba’s new cookbook

Posted by: peter in: Cookbooks | Restaurants

Best Thai restaurant in Dublin? Arguably a toss-up between Saba and Koh. Saba is consistently delicious, with fresh flavours and imagination always to the forefront. A few weeks back, Jean and I attended the launch of their new cookbook, Saba: The Cookbook. It’s not unusual, of course, for a restaurant to bring out a cookbook. [...]

In today’s Pricewatch, Conor Pope talks to Elizabeth Carty, author of Shrewd Food: A New Way of Shopping, Cooking and Eating, a new cookbook about feeding a family of four for less than €100 a week. Pope writes: The idea of a cheap eats cook book is hardly new and since the start of the [...]

I’m really loving Anissa Helou’s fantastic mezze recipes, as well as the stories on her wonderful blog. She currently has a lovely tale to tell about chocolates made from camel milk. You have to try this Italian dessert, it’s Baked Amaretti and Vin Santo Plums with Mascarpone Cream – outrageously good. It is from the recipe book ‘Falling Cloudberries’ by Tessa Kiros. With a really rich, full-bodied taste, it’s a winner if you’re looking to impress. I went all out and bought the ingredients from The [...]

Recipe: Brave broth

Posted by: jacqueline in: Cookbooks | Starters, Salads & Soups | Vegetarian

Since being with my partner, I have put on one entire stone. There is no mystery as to why – it is because I have spent too many nights on the sofa with a glass (ahem) of wine and some really good food, which invariably contains all or one of the following: cream, butter and [...]
