Unfortunately Just Off Francis closed down a few months ago; a shame, i had lunch there a couple of times and liked the food and the surroundings.

Chez Max is a great spot, I’d say it’ll be busy on the 14th though – it’s pretty cosy & romantic

its mostly known as wild rice and its actually a variety of grass!

I find it best to combine small amounts with basmati, it looks great on the plate and you get that nutty flavour.

Myself and the hubbie ate in a place called “Just off Francis” a few months back, it’s on Thomas Street, just off Francis street. Nice simple but tasty food and constantly changing specials. Well worth a try.

Hi folks – black rice is also chewy when cooked but is a bit more tender than brown rice. It’s very hard to describe the flavour as it’s quite complex, but I can give you ‘rich’, ‘purplish’ and ‘slightly nutty’ It’s tasty.

I had the lemon sole dusted with flour and spices, it was gorgeous, not a bone to be found and the fish was quite sufficient. We had Potato, Leek & Gruyere Gratin and Tiramisu. All was nice, the Tiramisu was a bit sickly though we got four servings out of it. The main was delish and would definitely go for that again.
