Food & Wine Christmas Show this Weekend

The annual Food & Wine Magazine Christmas Show takes place this weekend in Dublin’s RDS.  It’s aimed at foodies, funnily enough, with the main highlights of the show being the cookery demonstrations and masterclasses.  This year has some added drama in the form of a Masterchef cook-off so it should be fun.  There’s also restaurants doing taster plates and displays from artisan producers – these can vary widely in terms of appeal, generosity of samples and value for money, ranging from the delicious and lovely to the somewhat miserly.

Tickets are €20, children under 12 go free and the fair runs from this evening till Sunday evening.  Anyone thinking of going along?

  1. We signed up for Taste of Christmas at the Conference Centre instead! Did the F&W show last year and it was interesting. It’s very much a trade show, with classes on the fringe. Many of those classes were opportunities for vendors to hawk their wares. Top quality wares, but sales pitches all the same. The demos on the big stage were good, less marketing, more entertainment. Entry prices are a bit more competitive this year, with Taste clashing across the river. Good times to be into your food and produce.
