Pears, Ingredient of the Week: Pear and Raspberry Smoothie

Posted by: peter in: Ingredient of the Week | Recipes | Sweet Things

Fruit smoothieAs anybody unfortunate enough to have lived with me knows, I’m not a morning person. Until a few years ago, I found breakfast really difficult, especially if I was on the run. I usually just skipped it altogether.

Now, I manage to get some morning sustenance with a smoothie. What a great, healthy start to the day, so quick and easy, and much better than shop-bought offerings. My smoothie maker has become as indispensable as pots and pans.

One of my favourites is this Apple, Pear and Raspberry smoothie; it can be prepared in 30 seconds-1 minute. Raspberries will keep in the freezer for a few weeks. Just grab them out and throw them in!

I have a small appetite in the mornings but this always keeps me full until lunchtime.

Pear and Raspberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 pear
  • A big handful (around 8-10) raspberries
  • 1 glass of apple juice
  • A big dollop of honey
  • Two big dollops of natural yogurt

Instructions

Whizz all the ingredients together for about 20 seconds until smooth.

And that’s it!

This is just one suggestion for a pear smoothie. Does anyone have any more?

pear apple and ginger is a great combo – brilliant for an unsettled tummy (caused by hangover or other ..) ..
so i suppose one pear, glass of apple juice and small piece of ginger mashed up well .. or maybe even greated with one of those micro thingys ..
