Specials at Lidl

Posted by: peter in: Bargains & Special Offers

Lidl LogoLidl, already cheap as chips, has a selection of further reductions this week, including:

  • Fresh Irish Striploin Steaks – reduced from €8.99 to €6.99
  • Goodfella’s Frozen Pizzas – reduced from €3.49 to €2.49
  • Large Mangoes – reduced from €1.29 to 79c

For more details on these and other bargains and special offers, click here.

Also at Lidl this week, there’s special buys for the bedroom, including pyjamas, slippers and duvets. See here for more information.

dinghyMeanwhile, Lidl are assiduously targeting that most important of markets: divers and beach-goers. Offers include diving masks (€14.99), Professional Diving Combos (€99.99), and the wonderful inflatable dinghy I bought two years ago at Lidl and have used about twice (€599.99).

Finally, there will be a number of seafood and outdoor eating specials on offer from Thursday, including:

  • Wild Salmon Steaks (4-7 steaks, 500g): €.399
  • Breaded Fillet Goujons (400g): €2.49
  • 10 Aluminum Grill Trays: €2.49

The seafood offers, especially the salmon, are hugely appealing. This article in yesterday’s always excellent Observer Food Magazine pointed out that world fisheries are on the brink of collapse, leading to the extinction of cod, skate, tuna, and more. But thanks to the efforts of George W. Bush (seriously, it’s one of about two good things he did while in office), wild Pacific salmon is sustainably sourced and cheap – so you can feel relatively guilt-free about tucking in.
