Our reader Joanne of Stitch and Bear got in touch to recommend Sweet Basil Thai in Rathmines:

Just wanted to give a shout out for the Sweet Basil Thai restaurant in Rathmines where you can enjoy a starter and main course for €12.50 every night. Food is really flavoursome and compares very well to some more expensive Thai restaurants in Dublin. Review on my blog here.

I’ve had takeaway from there once and it was really good – and €12.50 for two courses is one of the best restaurant offers we’ve seen yet.  Go for it!

I’ve eaten there once, and couldn’t stop giggling at the sullenness of the owner/waiter whatever he is. Don’t think he smiled the whole time we were there. Agree the food is good though.
