Love at Tesco

tescoirelandMoney and love go hand-in-hand on Valentine’s Day. This week, Tesco have a number of bargains and special offers with a heart-shaped twist. You’ll find them all here.

Best of all is the half-price Lily O’Brien’s chocolates, down from €12.49 to €6.24. They’re also hawking teddy bears, rather tacky and pointless “couple’s crackers”, cards, and a silly mug. But maybe I’m being a heartless cynic. Boo me!

Moving away from commercialised love, there’s half price offers on Walker’s crisps (their cheese and onion are beyond bland, but they do the best salt and vinegar) and breaded chicken fillets, as well as deals on bread, cheese, ham and tomato. I think Tesco want us to eat more sandwiches.

  1. Despite my affection for the names ‘Lily’ and ‘O’Brien’, those Lily O’Brien chocolate boxes aren’t the best. Loads of packaging and not very many chocolates, and the chocolates aren’t great quality..I think Butlers are much nicer.
