I think these artichokes are yum, but the oil they are packed in is pretty rank! i always drain it and rinse them, it is some vegetable oil mix! Olive oil would be nicer but I guess the price would have to go up! Nevin has a really nice recipe in his most recent book for a chicken, chorizo and artichoke rice bake, think kinda paella. It works a treat. Worth checking out!
Lidl do nice artichoke hearts…2 euros for about 200g.You get them in the chilled section with the antipasti.In oil with pink peppercorns and red chilli…yum yum yum

Sounds lovely. For me, artichoke hearts raise a homemade pizza to authentic standards.

I always rinse them too, regardless of the brand. The oil is usually very bitter.
