It isn’t a patch on the British one really. The standard of baking is so high.
The presenter and judges have sod-all personality 🙁 I like Anna, but she comes across to me as being a bit wooden and clearly reciting a script. Paul… god love him but you wouldn’t notice him in an empty room. 🙁 But wasn’t there several occasions where he tells contestants their cake is lovely and THEN bitches about it outside. What was the point of that? :-/
There should only be one winner: Stephen. Apart from baking his socks off (and baking the bottom of his trousers off), I think he must only have agreed to the Jarek lover-boy feeding scene earlier in the series in return for the title. That said, I can already hear the ‘grown with the competition’ and ‘listened to everything we asked’ tropes about Will. I’ve been wishing Maryanne off the show for weeks. The sunnies, third person references, faux self-deprecation and maddening amnesia get my goat. I’ve been wrong each time I thought she’d get the chop, so will probably be driven over the edge by her journey completing on top. I’ve enjoyed the show though …

He totally did that. He told them it was gorgeous/beautiful/lovely (as usual) and then said it was awful to the camera. What’s the point of that.
IMO it’s British>Australian>Irish.
