Cheap pints goldmine

dublinpubsceneWe had a post here last week asking readers to help us find the cheapest pints around. One of the commenters on that post struck gold on the interweb: DublinPubScene.com, which has a league table of the cheapest pints, no less.  The pubs all get individual reviews and some of the customer comments are pretty great:

On the Garden of Eden lapdancing club: “This pub is full of scantily clad women and I kept on being asked would I like to dance. ”

Not all the cheap pubs are horrifying (although plenty are) – the Dice Bar is apparently cheap for Guinness. The prices listed are a bit out of date, but it still gives some handy guidelines.

  1. Recently went up from €3 to €3.50, but if you don’t mind a bit of a rough (read: this is where homeless people drink) pub you can get a pint of Guinness for €3.50 in the classy “Restaurant Royale” on Golden Lane just off South Georges Street.

Good hearty full Irish with tea for €5 too. Bit of a rough diamond 😉

Disclaimer: Regulars are drinking there from breakfast time.

  2. pintofplain.com appears to have more up to date pricings.

  3. yeah these are out of date, says commenter who mentioned it in the first place!
