The French Laundry features on the recently published San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants. El Bulli in Spain is ranked at number one, with Hestor Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck at number two. The list is a good guide if you fancy a once-in-a-lifetime treat while on holidays or, indeed, if you’re looking for an unusual wedding present for a couple heading on honeymoon.
Back in the good old pre-recession days, I had a fantastic meal at The Witchery in Edinburgh, while The Strawberry Tree in Co. Wicklow is the best fancy restaurant I’ve been to (so far!) in Ireland.
