Very good idea and nicely laid out. I’d suggest categorising things by location too if that’s feasible – even something like Dublin North/Centre/South, Galway, Cork, etc.
Good idea. As well as being able to search by area, I’d like to have some kind of date indication for the offer so I could see at a glance which offers are current.
I think it’s a really good idea – something I would definately keep checking on a regular basis, who doesn’t love a meal deal. One problem I found though (and it could be cos I’m such a technophobe) was that I couldn’t get the RSS feed to work – it came up as classifieds page not found.
Great service and I’m sure I’ll be using it – would love to see more offers outside of Dublin (I’m about to relocate to my rural roots but it would also be great for planning weekends away).
A link to the restaurant’s website would be very useful – that way we could check menus, phone numbers etc. If no website, maybe contact details would be useful – have just gone back in and noticed that this is all actually available. Maybe point this out more clearly for those of us who are that little bit slower!
only disadvantage i see with charging is breakfast bargains on newstalk do effectively the same thing (they send you an email) so if i was a restaurant i would go with the newstalk option.
I think its a great site, built on a terrific idea. I’m a compulsive bargain hunter, and to have the bargains come to me makes my life a whole lot easier! I think it’s wonderful for encouraging restaurants to compete and finally advertise offers that makes eating out more realistic and less damaging on the wallet….
Great idea! And the sooner it is expanded outside of the Dublin area the better! It would be great if there were regional categories for those of us beyond the Pale.
There are so many offers out at the moment so your website is a brilliant idea!! it should make it so much easier to find all the relevant offers what whatever it is you are looking for!!
Good idea, would like to see more restaurrant offers. And as previous poster have mentioned when there are more offers a way of searching them would be helpfull
love cheapeats.ie – great for recessionistas! Would prefer an easier search system on both cheapeats and cheapeats classified. Cheapeats classifed should be categorised by region and further classifed by restaurant/weekend offers etc.
More stuff from the regions on both sites please!!
I like tihe idea. As long as the BARGINS are real and not Ryan air type Bargins. THe offer is €20 and when u finish paying for everything its three times that. I know there is no such thing as a free lunch. I tweet at Dublincityfm1
What a great enhancement to an already brilliant site. It will save time trawling through websites looking for a deal. Location and type dropdowns are going to be a necessity soon as this is going to be very popular. As you don’t endorse any of the ads it might be an idea to have a ‘comments’ options so anyone who has tried the deal could add feedback on value for money etc.
I think the classified section of cheap eats is brill. I love food and this site really helps enable me continue to eat out or eat in and get great value for money. The recession is bringing everyone down and we all are having to tighten our belts right now but amazing food is getting more and more accessable which is a definite silver lining on this recession cloud. Thanks for all the good advice.
This is a brilliant idea. There aren’t enough sites dedicated to food and particularly cheap/good value food. I’d like to see a student section dedicated to student budgets and possibly a lunch section?
I’ll be back!
Great idea. Hotes should use it to advertise late room deals with evening meal specials. They cant use the bed night the following day so why not give a special with dinner to fill it?
I think some way of letting restaurants know where we saw the offer would be good. Maybe a coupon code or something – it might encourage them to use the site more often.
I checked out the classified section for this 1st time this more, I think it a good idea, given the current climate, we are all looking for “deals” and its a handy tool to use in advance of selecting a resturant or hotel. Once it becomes more populated with offers it will a better resource, the classifications along the right hand side are very handy. It needs more non greather dublin offers though.
Great addition, hopefully will be a good balance of offers from around the country too . For restaurants offering special offers, listing a few items from menu would be tempting! and helpful.
I really like the idea but am just a little concerned about you guys receiving advertising money from restaurants / businesses which are being reviewed or commented on on the main site. Maybe there could be a slight conflict of interest there?
Great idea, and the clarity around paid versus reviews is a very welcome change to other well known review sites – and a key differentiator for you guys – well done!
I love this idea. Lets hope lots of restaurants and hotels realise how beneficial this site can be for their business. At this stage you should be pushing for a slot on the late late show to promote your site even further.
Good idea to see all the current deals. Would be nice to see a clear date at the top that the deals start and end. Also maybe a search box would be good too!
Taking a few days holidays in dublin, and will definately be checking for good value meals. Really great idea, well done, and thanks for making life a little easier.

Will be checking it!
Like to have a facility to book/phone – my net connection is slow, so loading up several pages can be frustrating.

addresses so that we don’t have to visit the site to see
them?

I’m glad the entries are well tagged and categorized for easy reference!

Cheers.
