This week’s Super6 selection includes white potatoes, Granny Smith apples, and a carrot and parsnip tray for 89c each. Last Saturday , our commenter Eve said that details of the Super6 offer weren’t on the Aldi website when she clicked through from CheapEats. Update: Aldi’s very helpful PR people have informed us that the Super6 runs every week from Sunday to Saturday, so there should always be a Super6 on!

Still on Aldi, another recommendation: the Moser-Roth dark chocolate, which comes as four individually wrapped bars for just €1.69. Buy four bars of sugar-loaded Cadbury’s chocolate confectionary for €3 in the newsagent and they sell it to you as a special offer, but Moser-Roth at Aldi is really good value, and delicious too.

I’m a little put-off because Moser-Roth isn’t a Fairtrade product, and I’ve developed an aversion to buying non-Fairtrade dark chocolate. It is hypocritical of me as I’ll happily devour Lindt, Butler’s, Cadbury and Mars chocolates without giving it a second thought, while I haven’t been worrying much about pineapples, tea, or many other imported products.
