Review: Dublin Bay Taste and Music Festival, August 26-28

Update, Sat 12 noon: Free entry before 4pm today and tomorrow, and just €5 after 4pm. Under-16’s free with an adult.

Another event worth a look: the Dublin Bay Taste and Music Festival. This weekend in the People’s Park, Dun Laoghaire, from noon until 10pm.

There’s cooking demos, music and entertainment, and a selection of food for sale from restaurants including China Sichuan, Alexis, Caviston’s and Bon Appetit.

Here’s a very quick review after attending today’s event:

Event under canvas, so punters don’t have to worry about getting wet. MUCH better value than Taste of Dublin. Prawns pil-pil from Nosh restaurant are delicious: four huge prawns for 5 tokens (€5) with a big chunk of crispy bread. Other samples are also very generous. Enjoyable music, plenty of places to sit. Great cookery demo with Kevin Dundon. There’s a few items – such as two individually wrapped chocolate truffles for €1 – which allow you to spend any leftover tokens. Lots of samples to go around.

  1. Kevin Dundon didnt show up for his Satuday demo,it was that ass from Kinsale who did his usual guffaw bout being afraid of fish(to the tent full of people who came to learn something about cooking it)
he then proceeded to fry the damn thing.
What a let down and waste of a journey.
