Wing Fanatic – the best wing joint in town.
Everybody knows how the yanks like to do things large – eating, drinking, partying, even lying down. But Wing Fanatic is still a surprise to come across. They serve 50 different kinds of chicken wing. The place itself looks like a Calvinist food hall from the 16th century but that’s because Mr James, (owner and fattest black guy I’ve seen this side of the Nutty Professor) don’t care for distractions such as interior design. Wing fanatic is about wings.
There’s not a lot a chicken lover like me can say about a place like this. Is it good quality? Probably not. Does it taste good? Definitely. My lawyer, a sinewy weasel of a man, asked Mr James if one portion of wings would be enough for him. But it was like a mouse looking for dietary advice from a brontosaurus, a point which Mr James made by noting how small we all were (rather than how big he was).
I think that most of this blogpost should be dedicated to the variety of flavours of wings on the menu so that Cheap Eats readers may get some ideas. We had a portion of Garlic Parmesan and Sweet Heat as they were the two biggest sellers on the list. Ten wings for seven dollars. Both were delicious and came with ranch sauce and a pointless, very frightened looking stick of celery who was clearly out of her depth.

Buffalo wings, boneless wings, chicken tenders and country wings (battered) can all be got with your choice of sauce. I think they also serve burgers and fries but it doesn’t matter because that would be like ordering an omelette and chips in a Chinese restaurant.
