Oxford

oxfordI’m off to beautiful Oxford today, for a six-day working holiday.  I’ll be spending the weekend swanning around pretending to be Virginia Woolf (I already look like her so it’ll be easy), and then attending the Fairsay Ecampaigning Forum for a couple of days.

I can’t wait: Oxford is one of the Most Charming Places Ever, full of cobbled streets, exquisite buildings and floppy-haired boys riding bicycles.  We’ve even arranged to spend time with a Rupert.

I won’t be posting as much as usual, but will try to send in a few Oxford dispatches.  I’ll check out some restaurants, and go food shopping for treats that will fit in my suitcase.

And if any of you readers have been to Oxford and can recommend some good places to eat, I’d be ever so grateful.

  1. Ooh! My home town!

Jericho has great cafes and restaurants… Little Calrendon St good bars. Stay away from George St unless you want to eat ina chain, and grab sarnies from delis (esp. Alpha Deli) and pies from Pie Minister in the covered market. Enjoy! Take pics and report back! x x
