  1. Two for one dinners or a free bottle of wine with dinner!

  2. I am on my 1st pregnancy and would love to see a feature for expectant mothers. Ideas on how to increase vitamin intake, foods to avoid, Hyigene tips etc.

    Thank You

  3. I’d love to see receipes of the signature dishes of best restaurants in Ireland – Bentleys fish pie or elephant and castle chicken wings etc..

  4. My top tip for saving money when eating out in restauarants is SHARING – starters and sweets. Its a lot more fun and intimate too.

  5. I’d love to see a myth-busting column, where you debunk some of the commonly believed food myths, such as ‘E numbers are bad for you’ or ‘all processed foods are evill.

  6. I’d like to see more seasonal recipes so that the meals are better value. Gona try out the hot cross buns recipe this weeknd

  7. i RI replied to this competition but didn’t realise I had to say what i would like to see in a food magazine. I would like if they had an article say where they spent a certain amount of money €50/60 and made five dinners and maybe desserts with a budget.. would certainly help in these recessionary times.

  8. What can I say I am a total foodie & have just discovered this magazine. I would love to see more simple but superb dinner party ideas. I love to have friends over for great food, wine & chat but sometimes find it difficult to come up with ideas. I’d also like wine & food matching sections for all…. not a big ask really. Thanks, your doing a great job.

  9. Recipe guides from head chefs of best irish restaurants on their most popular dishes

  10. It would be great to get some suggestions on how to pair starters and main courses, say, when ordering from the featured restaurant’s menu. What does the chef say about choosing courses that maximise balance and flavour?

  11. I’d like to see more reviews recommending wines for each dish. Also some features and reviews on restaurants that allow you to bring your own bottle and recommendations on which wine to go from the off licence that match each dish perfectly. I like it when recipes are geared toward single servings, a lot of magazine features only have recipes for 4 servings which is a waste when you’re living alone.

  12. I would like to see a section where readers can write in with their recipe-say Irish one month-ethnic the following month- vegetarian the following month etc.

  13. The two current buzzes seem to be special deals being promoted by restaurants (such as 2 for 1 main courses) and Health Consciousness. However, at the moment these seem to be mutually exclusive. Bargain prices have no concern for health and healthy food is still expenisve. I’d like to see an article on eating healthy food at bargain prices in Ireland today.

  14. I woI would like to see recipes that use a lot of the same ingredients (herbs etc.) At least it all gets used and you don’t end up with things going out of date and having to be thrown out.

  15. Love the magazine – I would love to see a section on restaurant hygiene. What are the restaurants that have great hygiene practices? And which places are best avoided for their hygiene infractions?

  16. I’d love to see some recipes for healthy cakes/buns/sweets that are cheap to make and some quick and easy lunches to make as well.

  17. I’d love to see some suggestions for quick and healthy packed lunch options – soups, salads or sandwiches.

  18. I’d like to see food for kids that you can make in short time from cupboard staples. How many times have you come home a bit late from work and realised that what you had intended to cook is going to take hours and that you won’t be feeding the kids until 8pm!

  19. I would like to see a review slot on “Random Restaurants”, those dodgy looking places in weird places that are actually wonderful!

  20. I would like to see features on large scale catering that would be suitable for home events such as Christenings, Communions or Confirmations to help reduce costs and avoid getting in caterers or going to hotels and restaurants.

  21. i would love if you featured restaurants from different counties with a budget in mind for families also it would be nice if you had dishes created by your readers and tried out in a restaurant, a childrens cookery corner would be great as it would encourage to cook, also you could create a feature for the junior and leaving cert students by including questions and solutions slot which would be very apt coming up to the exams
by the way i love your frugal feasts slot!
best of luck with LOVE FOOD

  22. echoing what the others have said, i love enbtertaining and spending the whole day cooking, but i’d love some ‘friday night dinner party’ ideas. stuff that can be ready in an hour while you frantically clean the place!!

also meal solutions for when you couldn’t be arsed, don’t want a takeaway and can’t afford to go out.

  23. A number of features could include the following;
    1. On the value of the food markets particularly Moore St., Liberties and Organic Co-op in Newmarket
    2. On the ethnic restaurants that offer best value in around North inner city, such as Madina, Hop House and those in Moore St. Mall.
    3. On the early birds menus available around the city centre which have become value for money.
    4. On the great value Irish ‘peasant food’ dishes such as Coddle, Guinness beef stew, Lamb stew.

  24. The next AA Gill and Nigel Slater. Also, utensil review – e.g. how to put that long-forgotton melon baller to use – and what’s new on the utensil/gadget scene. Think ‘kitchen’ and ‘shopping basket’, not just food.

  25. There should be more articles on how to save money by growing own herbs etc

  26. Would love to see more information on food hygiene, like waht can be reheated, what can’t. I often forget what you can and can’t do and I have to say I often take risks :-/ Would love something to have on hand to refer to !

  27. What i’d really love to see included is a section on versatile well priced restaurants that produce a good variety of dishes well and doesn’t cost the earth. Myself and my “better half” always quibble on where to go based on the variety of dishes on offer. He hates Seafood, I love it. He hates complicated dishes-i love trying new things. He loves gourmet burgers-i detest spending money in a restaurant on such simple dishes!! You can see where i’m going on this……it would be a good idea for first dates too where your not sure of each others tastes but there’s something for everybody that leave an amazing impression!

  28. In a food magazine I would definitely like to see some ideas for packed lunches to take into work (apart from soup/ sandwiches). I’d also like to see some culinary input from the various immigrant groups that have settled in Ireland in recent years- maybe an interview with a person from say, Argentina, and then they could share a couple of their favourite recipes from their country and in the next issue you could have a Polish person etc etc…..P.S. I would LOVE to try Bentley’s!!

  29. I’d read interviews with the staff behind the celebrities…

I’d love some good rhubarb and ginger recipes…

I’d like someone to teach my husband how to cook – could you do a ‘men only’ section?

I’d like an Italian to teach Irish restaurants how to welcome children… and feed them properly…

    I want luscious photos… dripping, oozing, tantalizing…

  30. All it really needs to have is step by step recipes for all levels of cooks, show where deals can be got, hints & tips with the average person in mind. Plus if your giving a recipe with some odd ingredent mention where you can get the item from.

  31. Good nutritional information and emphasis on dishes that are quick to prepare and cook

  32. I’d love to see easy, uncomplicated recipes featuring lots of nice Irish vegetables.

  33. I’d love to see exceptional treats or desserts available to buy in chains or supermarkets. I think we all have a list of something we buy if we really want a treat!

  34. I like to read more reviews and recipes with information on where to source good ingredients for them.

  35. I would like to see competitions featured where the finalists would compete in a cook-off. For amateur cooks not professionals!

  36. Hi I have been to Bentley’s and it was a lovely experience. The service and food were to die for.I would love to return compliments of Love Food. What I would like to see in the magazine is a recipe from each restaurant featured-giving the secret tips.

  37. Would love to try Bentleys!

What I’d like to see more of in Food magazines is healthy recipes for kids – esp things that they can help in cooking.

In terms of good deals for eating out – keeping an eye out on the web for good bargain alerts and also the 2 for 1 offers that are becoming more popualr at the moment.

  38. A happy heart Page would be a welcome feature promoting healthy recipes and locating restaurants with Happy heart menus, such a promotion has existed in waterford for happy heart week

  39. I would like to see an article on the quality of food being served in colleges/uni’s etc. As a past graduate of a certain Institute of Technology, i was always annoyed over the laziness of the catering and the lack of healthy options. I didn’t realise there are so many ways to serve curry chips!

  40. I would love to see a regular feature on restaurants offering decent wheat-free options! It’s horrible, having little or no choice on a menu!

  41. hi, i’d like to see a featured dish of the week thats slightly different or rare. something such as the slow cooked greek dish Kleftiko.

  42. At 24 I’ve only recently become really keen on cooking; I’ve always baked and made desserts but dinners were something that I preferred to leave to others! I now love making staples like vegetable soup, spaghetti bolognese, pasta carbonara, and vegetable bakes. Usually I source really easy recipes on the net or the odd time cut things out from the paper – how about dedicating one or two pages to the young budding cook – nothing scary and complicated, even just the simple things like how long to bake salmon for, would be really useful to some I’m sure!

  43. avail of the Early Bird Menu

  44. I would like to see a guide to eating seasonally, by way of a ‘what is good this week/month’ feature, and a feature on the best ‘Early Birds’ available.

Would also like to see a beer feature, exploring some of the great craft brews available in Ireland at the moment.

  45. I’d love to see regular tips for eateries in city break cities-paris, bacelona, Prague, and updated regularly because things can change quickly

  46. I’d like a section dedicated to cooking utensils and where to source them.

  47. My top tip when eating out is to choose the house wine. If a restaurant does not carry a good house wine it is not a good restaurant. Always be prepared to eat out early in the evening to get real value. Same food, just cheaper.

  48. I would like to see more articles which feature restaurants, deli’s etc. outside of Dublin, Cork and Galway! There are many ‘hidden gems’ which I always seem to hear about AFTER I’ve visited their county!

  49. I think the mag is an excellent idea. I would like to see features from well known chefs telling us what a typical midweek meal at home would be for them and how to make it. The recipe for a signature dish of a well known restaurant. Lots of ideas for kids school lunches. A chance for readers to be a food critic each week/month. Handy uncomplicated recipes for dinner parties. (I think if you share a dessert its more romantic and will cut the cost at the end of your meal). Also tap water is a whole lot cheaper than bottled while out.

  50. Go early, many restaurants offer an early bird menu with items well priced.
Another top tip for saving money when eating out with the family is to order diluted drinks by the jug.
